Green IT

Greening Up Our Act is a University wide initiative to improve environmental sustainability on all Monash campuses.

The Monash IT community has been asked to look at how IT can contribute to the sustainability effort.

So contribute to this blog and:

• share the great things you or your group or area have noticed or are doing
• tell us what you think should or could be done
• suggest how can collaborate to make this happen and
• send us links to reference material.

The categories in the overall Monash environmental sustainability strategy are: 

• energy
• waste
• transport
• water
• procurement

How will this blog be used?

The first round of input from this blog will be collated on Monday 18 February and included in an initial Green IT program. A steering committee will be set up to consider how best to coordinate a green IT activities. This will report to a Vice-Chancellor’s Group – Environment committee.

The blog will be ongoing to report back on progress and keep the discussion and ideas happening!
